The End of an Embroidered Era

So the show is nearly over. It has been an amazing experience, meeting new people and being able to chat about my work and my interests. As well as hearing about others.
Here are a few selected photos from my degree show for you have a wee look at.

The most colourful living area around..

As it gets closer and closer to the opening of my Degree Show I'm getting all my pieces prepped and ready for the big day. These are a few pieces so far...

This was the space I was lucky enough to use over my Easter break from University, to work in and create some fun and bright summery knitted fabrics. In St. Bees Cumbria. Such a gorgeous inspiring area!

Everything a creative person needs.. Plenty of space, bright colours surrounding you, a comfortable chair and a good cup of freshly made coffee!

It's Raining, It's Poring, The Old Man is Snoring

These are some images of a scene I recently made with the great support of my friend. I decided to cover an umbrella and a pair of wellingtons with a bright selection of colours, as we are used to seeing such dull shades and have cold feelings when we wear them.

It's Time, to have a Brew, and make some music..

Lets Get Down To The Knitty Gritty

My work is currently about exploring the possibilities through the use of knit, hopefully with an outcome that creates delight and interest to people who see it.

Comfort matters!

Lamp shade cover, using bright bold colours

One of the covers that I made for a number of different mugs, that I left in areas around the city for passers by to find. In hope for a reaction and to find out how they felt about finding an unexpected present from me..

Guerilla Knitting

I like to have delight, humour, and eye catching yarns in my work. Guerilla Knitting has been a great way to portray this. This way of working also ensures that every body has a chance to see it, as I place my knit in areas where there will be a great deal of people near by.

Taking the Inside, Outside

I'm extremely interested in taking what is regarded as 'inside pieces' into the outdoors, and placing them in areas where you would least expect them to be. These images are the beginning of my work. As well as the covers I made for the stones in the local park.
